Basildon is on the cusp of an exciting new chapter.

Our vision is to evolve and enhance the Eastgate Centre. Here, you can view our proposals:
We want people to aspire to live, work and play here, in a place of fantastic homes, businesses and activities for all within welcoming green and public spaces.
We have now submitted an outline planning application to the Council for these proposals, and they have been carrying out their own statutory consultation on the scheme. This outline application presents a vision for the future of the Eastgate Centre and the surrounding area. The project includes the partial repurposing of the shopping centre and the delivery of a comprehensive mixed-use district for all of Basildon. The proposal includes for the relocation of Asda to a new appropriately scaled unit within the town centre.

Recent national news regarding retail closures throughout our town centres and high streets has highlighted the challenges the sector is facing, intensifying the need for the repurposing of space within our town centres. Basildon town centre is no exception and must grow and evolve to ensure its survival. The introduction of different uses for the space left by retail closures is a key part of this. The application will also include the redevelopment of neighbouring land to provide a mix of town centre uses, including new homes, retail, commercial and community floorspace, as well as significant landscaping and public spaces for the entire community to enjoy.
